RESOURCES FOR OUR CURRENT TIMES
White House.jpg
This is our house! As citizens, what can we do?

Our Recommendations

  1. Call your representatives in the Congress and the Senate. Tell them to hold the line and safeguard our democracy.
Senator Cory Booker: 973-639-8700 or 202-224-3224
Senator Andy Kim: 973-645-3030 or 202-224-4744
Representative Mikie Sherrill: 973-526-5668 or 202-224-3121

  2. Work with us to elect a governor in 2025 who will protect the constitutional rights of New Jersey citizens.

  3. Engage in local government! Learn how by contacting John Verga here.

  4. Be a part of our community! Join our Neighbor to Neighbor Conversations to build a true community of caring that forges a path forward together. Two conversations have taken place among a total of more than 50 participants. The next conversation, on March 27, will be a follow-up in which we well meet in small grups to draw up plans of action.

  5. Know your rights and the rights of other community members, such as the undocumented and our LGBTQ+ neighbors.

  6. Support organizations that protect civil liberties, human rights and democratic institutions (e.g. ACLU, Democracy Forward). Thank NJ's Attorney General, Matthew Platkin, for joining with other state attorney generals to defend our constitutional rights in the courts. Call 609-984-5828.

  7. Join and support advocacy and charitable organizations that reflect your interests and values.

  8. Responsibly engage in traditional, new, and social media. Know the facts. Stand your ground. Be informed.

  9. Practice self-care. Maintain joy in your life despite the news. Keep in touch with your neighbors living in fear or need.
